Man on Wire

mow
I watched “Man on Wire” tonight, a documentary about the amazing true story of Phillipe Petit, who in 1974 secretly rigged and walked a tight rope between the World Trade Centers in what many consider “the artistic crime of the century”…not for fame or art even though, he just seemed to do it because he really wanted to. Just an amazing story, especially the amount of preparation that went into this illegal feat. These guys staked out the towers forever and documented it brilliantly, I doubt the 1993 WTC bombers put as much into their attempt – and there’s no way you could pull something like this off today. Really good movie, absolutely crazy story. It’s presented almost like a heist or caper flick, it’s just true and absolutely nuts – check it out when you have the chance.

I think I first heard about this movie in an issue of Entertainment Weekly or something a while back, and have wanted to see it ever since. I’ll definitely check it out!
