A Love Letter For You
Stephen “Espo” Powers has struck again, and with one of the most ambitious art projects of the year to be sure. Love Letter is a series of over 50 murals completed by the artist (with the aide of other artists) in partnership with the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, in what has been described as a love letter to the city, all over the city. The murals feature typical Espo themes and typographic flair, beautifying the reputedly downtrodden city of brotherly love. We can only dream that one day an artist would take up residence here in Calgary and throw down a project of this scale. But then again, Calgary doesn’t have the same street cred as Philly…so keep dreaming nice dreams.
